We loved Two Ways Strong Jaz’s Story so much. The experience that Jaz has at boarding school is really similar to the experience of young people in the Kimberley. Some remote communities do not have high school options for older students and so to continue their education they have to go to boarding school in a larger city.
This is a must read for remote Aboriginal students in years 5-9 to help prepare them for the challenges of boarding. It is an interesting and fast paced (only 5 chapters) book that suits low literacy levels.
We created a learning resource that is available for download from Teachers Pay Teachers or here on our own website.
